Bing™ (http://www.bing.com/), Microsoft’s re-branded search engine, has been on a marketing tear for the last month. One interesting angle on this campaign is its recent Photo Contest launched last week on Facebook.
Photographers can submit photos through the Facebook application for a chance to be a featured summer travel photo on Bing’s Homepage for a 24 hour period. Although that may not seem like much, it is a chance for exposure to millions of viewers using the search engine worldwide.
The Facebook application itself is a great interface for a photography competition and integrates well with a user’s news feed, allowing you to promote your photo to your friends. The rules by which the contest is run is well though out – so be sure to read them before submitting!
