The CoffeeCup contest is winding down, but I have extended the submission deadline to this Monday May 3rd. There has been some very creative submissions so far!
Just to note – to get your photos in, with a little over 100 photos everyone has a great chance of placing in one of the 6 positions. Also for the popular vote your photos have to have at least 10 votes to qualify for 1st,2nd,3rd place.

The “Coffee Cup” contest is now open for submissions. This is the first contest with a theme based on a subject – which means you may have to dig through your photos, or better yet create a brand new photo for this contest that contains a coffee cup, or generally coffee in the shot. We generally get about two to three hundred submissions in our contests, though I expect this one to be low volume so the quota for members is raised to 5 from our typical 3 for most contests.

Yes! There will be prizes for the top three photos in two categories : the Judges selection, and Popular Vote. Prizes have not been chosen yet so stay tuned for a post later next week on what prizes we are offering. Since the introduction of the rating system for our photos in the Facebook App, all votes on your submissions count toward the Popular Vote – so the sooner you submit , the longer you have to get votes. Keep in mind you can place once per contest!

Be sure to check eligibility if you are new to the App here – http://apps.facebook.com/thirstyphoto/contests/rules/eligible.php. The Facebook App will redirect you back to the site when you are eligible to upload a photo.

The Facebook App has a number of icons you can click to access different parts of the application, a contest, and photos. By the way , the icon images below are not click-able. Be sure to enter the Facebook App (screen-shot shown above) to interact with these icons. 
The file icon can change depending on submission options.
This icon will check your eligibility for a contest.Once your eligible, the icon will change to this image which will allow you to upload photos to the contest. When you click this icon for a contest, a pop up will report your remaining submission quota, and give you the link to upload.
If you hit the quota, or the contest is closed to new submissions you will see this icon.
The ‘photo‘ icon will take you to the contest photos, where you can view, comment, share your photos or other photos on Facebook.
The ‘calendar‘ shows you the dates of each phase of the contest. You can also join the Facebook event associated with the contest.
The ‘prize‘ icon shows you all available prizes offered to the top placed photos.
The ‘info‘ icon will display contest information.
